E-scooter seized by neighbourhood officers |
||||
Dear Resident,
While on patrol, one of our neighbourhood officers spotted a woman riding through Stanground on an e-scooter with a young child. She told us that she was just taking the child home from school!
We would like to remind you that not only are e-scooters not a mode of transport for two people, but they should also not be a mode of transport for anyone!
Here is a reminder of the laws around e-scooters:
🛴They are classed as motor vehicles, which means to legally use one, you need the correct licence, insurance, and tax. Riding without this could result in being given a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) and points on your licence.
🛴It is not currently possible to get insurance for privately owned e-scooters in the UK, meaning it is illegal to use them on a public road or in public spaces. If you own an e-scooter, you can only legally use it on private land with permission of the landowner
You can report any concerns or information about e-scooters on our website.
Kind regards, | ||||
